My Baby Shower

This past Saturday, our future daughter and I were honored at a baby shower held at my house.  I wanted to host at my home for two reasons: 1.) I don’t have to transfer all of the gifts that I receive and 2.) There are many family members and friends that have not seen our new home since the move and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to make that happen.  John and I are still overwhelmed with the amount of help that we had to put this thing on.  You all know who you are, and we thank you for all of the cooking, cleaning, preparing, and set up you did to make this possible! We are both so thankful from the bottom of our hearts for all of the gifts and love we received.  It’s truly amazing how generous people are and we do not take that for granted.  I thought for this post I would show  pictures from the day and some of the cool stuff we received that I cannot wait to try on our little one.  We asked for books instead of baby shower cards so that we can begin building a hefty wealth of knowledge at an early age.  It was so fun to see all of the different books people brought.  Some featured sentimental value, some pertained to where the person lived that gifted the book, and some even chose a book based on a piece of their personality or career.  So cool.

First of all, check out this Vanilla Bundt Cake by Nothing Bundt Cakes! The picture is featured towards the bottom of the page.  My mom had purchased one for John and I on our 1 year anniversary because our top cake was ruined.  I knew I wanted this to be at my shower.  Along with this giant vanilla cake, my mom had ordered mini bundtinis that came in a variety of flavors–my favorite was chocolate.  It was the perfect bite sized snack!

I knew I wanted my dress to be something fun, flows, and floral to bring in some spring.  Dress you can purchase at Pink Blush Maternity for 58 dollars.

My sister Hannah made me a beautiful diaper cake for the shower.  She is SO good at making them so if anyone wants one done for a future shower, contact me and I will reach out to her.  She would love to do it!  She also got the baby “My Aunt is my BFF” onesie.  How cute?!

Speaking of sisters, my sister in laws, niece and my mother and father in law flew in from the Colorado to be with me for the shower (boy, were their arms tired).  How nice is that? My sister in laws gifted me some outfits and a cute diaper wipe clutch that goes perfectly with my nursery theme.  On top of that, you can see me lighting up in a photo above when I pulled out 4 bottles of Cabernet from Julie and Kristin.  Cabernet is my favorite wine. They featured personalized wine labels that my SIL Kristin made.  I will feature all 4 of the wine bottles on my Facebook page.  Kristin also made me the sign “Dream Big Little One” for the nursery. She’s super crafty!

John’s cousin Mollie got me my FIRST outfit from Purl Lamb which is featured above.  Check out their sale going on right now! Select hoodies and pants are 17 dollars each!

My long time friend Sydney blessed me with a gift I cannot WAIT to try.  She gifted me with the 4Moms MamaRoo!! I have heard great things from family and friends about this wonderful device that mimics the bouncing that a parent would.

Two of my sweet aunts and their daughters gifted me with the Ultimate Baby Collection from Beautycounter that includes: a diaper bag, gentle all over wash, daily protective balm and soothing oil.  I will feel comfortable putting these products on baby girl Martin knowing that there isn’t any harsh chemicals or ingredients you cannot pronounce.

Last, I received a onesie with the Two Pink Lines photo from my blog and “Martin” written on the back in pink.  I cannot wait to take pictures of her in it and blog about where we went on that day! Thank you Marissa!

There are plenty more products I received that I cannot wait to try and give a review on, but these are some things that stuck out to me.  Whether your gift was talked about or not, please know that we are sincerely grateful for it all.  I just simply cannot touch on every product at this time.  For everyone who made my shower possible and for those who came out to celebrate, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Please head over to the Two Pink Lines Facebook page that is linked on the main site page of this blog for more extras from the shower and don’t forget to “Like” the page when you get there!

Thank you for reading TWO PINK LINES!
